Woohoo it's Spring! Time to get out of the house a Woohoo it's Spring! Time to get out of the house annnnnnnd ...get knocked over by incredibly strong wind. That's how I ended up on the ground. It was super dramatic.

But seriously, I'm trying to work on my color toning. I would rather practice on myself than ruin someone else's image. I'm pretty happy with this one though. I used a triad color scheme to bring out blue, magenta and yellow - all of them quite desaturated! I love color, but it's hard for me to step away from neutralizing colors. I think it's time to be a bit bolder though!
Pony is going to a lease home for a bit! He's goin Pony is going to a lease home for a bit! He's going to be so upset that he has to work. As much as I wanted him to be my daughter's Pony, I think he needs to go out and see the world a bit. I'm going to miss him so much though 😭

He has a few weeks left with me, so I'm going to take some pony portraits. I have a few ideas in mind, from simple to a little bit whimsical. Hoping I'm able to pull them off! This one is just a simple, "here's my Pony in a field, looking very feral". He will clean up nicely though!
It's been a while since I introduced myself, so ti It's been a while since I introduced myself, so time to do it again! Hi! I'm Courtney, equine enthusiast and professional portrait photographer. This is my own professional portrait...of myself. I have an account just for portrait photography @courtneynoelstudio and then this account for horses, personal, and more... "experimental photography"... so to speak.

I have too many horses, which I complain about all the time. You grow up thinking you want a barn full, and then you realize you don't even have enough time to ride them all. And then you're too attached to sell any. And more horses just keep appearing. It's like once you know the magic code of horse ownership you're suddenly overwhelmed with how many horses life throws at you. One horse? Why not two? Why not three? Why not 34????

Btw, I have four horses. Four horses is too many horses for one person. (But... But all justified!! One pony, one retired, one riding horse and one prospect!!! See, it works!!!! ((Spoiler alert: it was not working))

*Ahem* But really I'm just glad I'm actually riding again after a couple years off. It's feeling good!! And maybe it will all work out!

So that's me in a nutshell - photographer and I complain a lot, but still optimistic! Nice to meet you!!!
A wild Berry out on the frozen tundra. I also cros A wild Berry out on the frozen tundra. I also cross this tundra, at least twice a day. Nothing like a slip and slide of frozen mud and puddles to go across every day! That was sarcasm. Everyone is sick of winter. Please warm up already.

Pony, not a fan of the snow, created his own littl Pony, not a fan of the snow, created his own little shelter in the bushes. Clever boy. Did give me a stink eye for putting him into this situation, though.
Another snow day! At this rate, I should train one Another snow day! At this rate, I should train one of these free loaders to drive, then I can take some sleigh rides. Of course, if I did that, it would probably never snow again... EVER.

Sidenote though, does anyone actually drive horse sleighs? It seems like you'd have to live very very far north to make it worthwhile to own one. Or I guess there's just tying some rope to a horse, sitting in a human sleigh, and being dragged behind a horse. That is more my style πŸ˜‚
Brrrrr it's been cold recently! My little one insi Brrrrr it's been cold recently! My little one insists on going outside anyway though. I know she knows what cold is, because she says it's cold, but she also doesn't seem to care. She will refuse to go back inside 🀣

Exploring outside in the cold wasn't my favorite thing but since she loves it so much, it is now. I'll do it if it keeps her love of the outdoors ❀️
I had the honor of photographing "Hell Week," an i I had the honor of photographing "Hell Week," an intensive lunging training run by Jimmy Wofford. It was so cool to watch it! Not only was it great listening to Jimmy teaching, it was amazing to watch all these talented riders go through the exercises. I saw things I've never seen on a horse, like throwing your legs back, twisting, and ending up sitting backwards on the horse 😳

Thank you so much for inviting me @pacificfarmsinc and can't wait for your write-up!!
My boy is looking handsome as a western horse! He' My boy is looking handsome as a western horse! He's still going to be a hunter when he gets back from training, but I think there's potential here for some dressing up days. I even still have the western saddle from my first horse. It's good to know he will already be okay with lots of different tack πŸ’ͺ

I'm actually not very picky on the tack I use, unless it's requirements of a horse show. I have a personal preference for hunter tack, but whatever is fine. Pony was in a western style bridle for the longest time, but mostly because I lost the noseband. He had to wear a frankinbridle with someone else's noseband when he actually did show πŸ˜‚ pretty sure it was even different colored leather.
Horse girl in the making. Bridgette loves her visi Horse girl in the making. Bridgette loves her visits to see the horses! She has to say hi to each one. She actually saw Stu being ridden the other day and it blew her mind. She's never seen anyone riding before, and I don't think she realized that's what horses are for!
Stu getting a little kissie with his trainer 😘😘😘

He is doing so well, he looks like such a grown up horse now! And he's in such a beautiful location. He has been a very good boy, and hasn't tried to jump over the fence once! Actually he's more on the lazy side, which is surprising to me. I guess he just needed a job and a change of scenery. It's working out really well for him. He's walking and trotting under saddle, but not cantering yet. He's unfit, and pretty lazy. But Kim the trainer is taking him out on trails soon! He's going to love it!
