Weekly Round-Up Sept 20, 2019

Helmets

I ordered my new helmet, and am eagarly awaiting it’s arrival. It’s taking a little bit longer than I expected… maybe today it’ll get here? I definitely need a new helmet. I tried on my old helmet and I’m shocked at how loose it is. I don’t think there’s any protection left there.

I also need it to rain so I can drag my arena since I’m not riding my horse on that literal solidified rock. So I guess I don’t need the helmet to get here super soon, because I don’t know when it’s going to rain. I mean, I could trailer out, but that makes it seem like a really big event for my first ride. I know it’s going to be short, so I don’t want to make a big deal out of it.

Article – Warning: I’m Not the Best Horse Trainer,

Heels Down Magazine

I really like the humility of this article, and willingness to learn. No matter how much we think we know, there’s always more to learn. I would trust that over someone bragging of high end credentals, and believing they already know everything.

Date Night

Sometimes I wish we were going to some fancy, romantic resturant, softly lit, and string music playing lightly in the background.

Instead we went to the costume store and I put on a sloth mask. I guess that’s more fitting.

We did also go to dinner though, but it was a local favorite resturant, nothing fancy. Last year we actually did go to a fancy resturant, but the thing that stood out the most was how expensive it was. The food was secondary to that, I don’t even remember it. It was good though, I think. Good enough that I decided to do brunch there, and then promptly forgot about it until just now.

It’s a Baby

Dave and I read am extended summary of 50 Shades of Gray together (a hilarious, bonding adventure), and at one point the dumb woman exclaims, “It’s a baby!” and we’ve always imagined it as this over the top shrill voice. So we like to repeat it at various points when we see the baby. Since we lives with us, it can be a lot.

But anyway, this might be an overload of baby, seeing as I just did a whole post devoted to her. But just look at her adorable little face in a hat! Just try and tell me that isn’t the cutest little thing.
