Experiences
Saving the best for last…
Possibly the best thing you can get the horse lover in your life is an experience. Stuff is fun and exciting but experiences are what really make up life. Give the gift of experience to someone you love, and they’ll appreciate it for a lifetime.
Things to try:
- Gift certificate for a lesson at their usual barn.
- Gift certificate for a riding experience someplace completely new! Try something they don’t usually ride, like polo, foxhunting, or an advanced trail ride (assuming they aren’t a beginner rider).
- A trip somewhere special – Think along the lines of a trip to a big show in their chosen discipline, like Devon Horse Show, or a convention like Horse World Expo.
- If you have a big budget, try an experience like an international riding holiday trip with a company like Globe Trotting. They offer trips all across the world, in some of the most beautiful countries and regions.
If you go the experiences route, just remember to package it in a nice way. Just telling someone. “Hey I’m buying you a trip, tell me when you’re free,” isn’t quite as fun as, for example, creating a little ticket in photoshop with the destination written in, and then put in an envelope, which is put in a nice little box. What I’m saying is that presentation matters. Your potential gift of a trip is amazing, but people like to unwrap things, and she’ll think you’re even more amazing if you make it look nice. Just a helpful hint!
I would love to have anything on this list, so hopefully you saw an option that will fit your particular equestrian! If not, check back as I’m going to add in wonderful gift ideas as I see them!
